Robberies reported in Hämeenkyrö, Finland leave several young victims traumatized

Several young people aged 15 to 22 became victims of robberies in Hämeenkyrö, located in the Pirkanmaa region of Finland, on Monday evening. The incidents occurred in parking areas near a store and a school, with victims selected at random. Hämeenkyrö is a municipality with approximately 10,000 residents.

Two of the victims sustained minor physical injuries. The suspects were unknown to the victims prior to the incidents. According to the Central Finland Police, a group of three individuals aged 18 to 19 traveled by car between Hämeenkyrö and Kyröskoski, threatening the victims with a sharp weapon and using physical violence to force them to surrender their belongings. Following the robberies, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, managing to steal very little property.

A police patrol from the Ostrobothnia Police Department apprehended the suspects at around 9 PM in Jalasjärvi. The Central Finland Police are investigating the events as two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of robbery. Moreover, the driver faces additional charges related to endangering traffic safety. The suspects are currently in custody.
