University of the Faroe Islands prioritizes distance learning in strategic plan for 2025 to 2030

The University of the Faroe Islands has included distance learning and remote instruction in its strategic plan for the years 2025 to 2030.

As a result, the university is expected to prioritize these initiatives in the coming years.

In response to a question from Member of Parliament Súsanna Bertholdsen about whether the university has concrete plans for distance education and remote teaching, Djóna Nolsøe Joensen, Minister of Education, stated that there are currently no specific plans.

The Minister emphasized that to achieve goals related to distance education and remote instruction, investments in IT and communications technology will be necessary, along with training for educators in new and appropriate teaching methods.
