Thirteen conscripts suspected of drug offenses at Porin Brigade in Finland
A total of 13 conscripts are suspected of offenses related to drug use or possession in the Porin Brigade. During a thorough inspection conducted by the police and the military, the garrisons in Säkylä and Niinisalo were examined. With the assistance of drug detection dogs, small quantities of illicit substances and medications classified as drugs were discovered and seized by the police. The most commonly confiscated drug was cannabis.
According to the Southwest Finland Police, the findings made during this inspection are significant for such operations. In their statement, the police noted that the extensive surveillance operation resulted in one recorded drug offense and 12 offenses related to drug use. All 13 conscripts are additionally suspected of service-related offenses.
The Southwest Finland Police will continue the preliminary investigation into the suspected crimes. Further information regarding the cases will not be released while the investigations are ongoing.
