Demand for maritime services leads Sandship to acquire new vessel in Fuglafjørður

Demand for maritime services abroad is increasing, prompting Sandship in Fuglafjørður to acquire an additional vessel, according to Managing Director Jørgin Jacobsen. This marks the fifth ship for the company.

The vessel, built in the Netherlands in 2001, has a capacity of 3,000 tons and was purchased from there. Before it sets sail early next year, the ship will be converted into a self-discharging vessel.

Additionally, the ship will be registered in the Faroese International Ship Registry.
