S-Group stores in Finland experience empty shelves for pre-made salads due to delivery issues at Fresh Servant

Many S-Group stores in Finland are facing empty shelves for pre-made salads today. According to Juhani Haara, the head of chain management for S-Group’s grocery operations, the shortage is due to delivery issues at Fresh Servant, the company responsible for producing these salads. Based in Pietarsaari, Fresh Servant manufactures Hetki salads and supplies raw ingredients for self-assembled salad meals under the brand name SalaattiMestari.

As a result of the delivery problems with Hetki salads, demand for other pre-made salads surged in S-Group stores over the past weekend. Haara noted that when some products face supply disruptions, customers will turn to alternatives, which can lead to temporary shortages in those products as well. Consequently, the shelves for salad meals are currently empty.

Haara has not yet been able to estimate how long this situation will persist. Fresh Servant has not responded to inquiries from local media regarding the supply issues.
