Two drivers caught speeding over 140 kilometers per hour in Reykjavik
The police in the capital region intervened with two drivers who were caught speeding over 140 kilometers per hour last night. One of the drivers had his license revoked, while the other had never held a license.
According to police reports, one driver was stopped in Reykjavik after speeding down the road at nearly 150 kilometers per hour in a zone where the speed limit was 80. This individual is facing fines for the offense. The second driver was caught traveling at 144 kilometers per hour in the same speed limit zone and was found to have never obtained a driving license, also facing penalties.
Additionally, the police detained a person in Reykjavik who allegedly obstructed a police vehicle and refused to move. Reportedly, this individual later refused to leave the police station after all necessary information was collected, and was held in a cell for further investigation.
