Dóra Björt Guðjónsdóttir, a city council member of the Pirate Party, expressed her confusion over the behavior of Kristrún Frostadóttir, the leader of the Social Democratic Alliance. This follows Kristrún’s comments in a Facebook group for residents of Grafarvogur regarding Dagur B. Eggertsson, the former mayor, stating he would not be a minister if the Alliance were to join the government.

In her message, Kristrún asserted that Dagur would not take a ministerial position and suggested the voter omit his name on the ballot, emphasizing the overall platform of the Alliance. She mentioned that this is a crucial opportunity for real societal change, stressing not to let one individual dictate the outcome as he plays a supporting role rather than a leading one.

Kristrún mentioned in a subsequent interview that Dagur was stepping back and accepting a lesser position on the electoral list, and he himself has claimed he is not vying for a ministerial role. Dóra Björt criticized this stance, stating it reveals a limited understanding of Dagur’s long-term significance in shaping the city and his political acumen.
