Progressive Party confirms candidate list for Northwest Constituency ahead of elections

The Northwest Constituency association of the Progressive Party has officially confirmed their candidate list for the upcoming elections, with no changes at the top three positions. Leading the list is sitting MP Stefán Vagn Stefánsson, followed by fellow MPs Lilja Rannveig Sigurgeirsdóttir and Halla Signý Kristjánsdóttir.
The candidates for the Northwest Constituency are as follows:
– Stefán Vagn Stefánsson, MP from Sauðárkrókur
– Lilja Rannveig Sigurgeirsdóttir, MP from Borgarnes
– Halla Signý Kristjánsdóttir, MP from Flateyri
– Ragnar Baldvin Sæmundsson, city council member from Akranes
– Þorgils Magnússon, construction engineer from Blönduós
– Gunnar Ásgrímsson, teaching student from Sauðárkrókur
– Steinunn Guðmundsdóttir, machinery engineering student at HR Akranes
– Garðar Freyr Vilhjálmsson, dairy specialist from Dalabyggð
– Sigríður Hulda Guðbjörnsdóttir, children’s welfare manager from Bolungarvík
– Sigurbjörn Rafn Úlfarsson, manager from Hólmavík
– Gauti Geirsson, manager from Ísafjörður
– Jóhanna María Sigmundsdóttir, deputy mayor from Dalabyggð
– Elsa Lára Arnardóttir, assistant school principal from Akranes
– Sveinn Bernódusson, master of steel fabrication from Bolungarvík
However, changes are expected in other constituencies. Hafdís Hrönn Hafsteinsdóttir, an MP for the Progressive Party from the Southern Constituency, has chosen to run for the 2nd position on the party list in the North Reykjavík constituency, stepping down from her previous position. Party leader Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson has proposed Halla Hrund Logadóttir for the top position on that list.
