Woman charged in Aarhus court for supporting Islamic State after evacuation from Syria

A 27-year-old woman has been charged at a preliminary hearing in the Court of Aarhus for supporting the terrorist organization Islamic State and for receiving training to carry out terrorist acts. This information emerged during the court proceedings.

The woman, who is a mother, was evacuated yesterday from the al-Roj camp in northwest Syria along with her eight-year-old child. Upon their arrival at Copenhagen Airport, she was detained by officers from East Jutland Police. Subsequently, both the mother and child were transported to Aarhus, where the preliminary hearing commenced around 11 AM. The child has since been handed over to social authorities.
