Shooting at Vantaa Viertola School results in death of 12-year-old boy and injuries to two girls
In April, a tragic shooting at Vantaa Viertola School resulted in the death of a 12-year-old boy and left two sixth-grade girls seriously injured. The suspected perpetrator was also a sixth-grade student at the time of the incident.
According to police, the suspect revealed during interrogations that he intended to shoot multiple individuals, whom he had identified on a list he created, labeling them as bullies and name-callers. Authorities indicate that the suspect had been researching school shootings online for months prior to the incident, looking for documents and news related to previous events in Finland.
Following the completion of the preliminary investigation, the suspect is facing charges of murder, two counts of attempted murder, among other crimes. However, due to his young age, the case will not proceed to charges.
