Finnish government continues funding for educational materials for individuals with intellectual disabilities
The Finnish government will continue its financial support for the production of educational materials for individuals with intellectual disabilities, as confirmed by Education Minister Anders Adlercreutz. In September, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health announced the discontinuation of funding for the Central Association for the Disabled’s educational materials center (Opike), which had been in place for over 30 years.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Education and Culture will now assume responsibility for funding this initiative. “I am pleased that we can secure the funding and that the production of learning materials for people with intellectual disabilities can continue. This is essential for promoting equal learning opportunities for all,” Adlercreutz stated.
