Today’s weather in Iceland is expected to be quite variable. Rain will dominate the western regions for most of the day. In northern areas, rain will transition into sleet at lower altitudes, while inland regions can expect snowfall. Travelers are advised to keep an eye on weather forecasts and road conditions.

As evening approaches, conditions will begin to improve, leading to clearer skies; however, temperatures will drop, creating frost across much of the country.

Looking ahead to Friday, a low-pressure system is anticipated to bring a strong southeast wind, possibly reaching storm intensity, accompanied by significant rainfall and rising temperatures. By the afternoon, winds will shift to the southwest, leading to showers and possible sleet, with a subsequent drop in temperatures.

As the weekend progresses, the low-pressure systems are expected to weaken, resulting in lighter winds and reduced precipitation.
