Authorities investigate reported assault in Laajavuori area of Jyväskylä, Central Finland

Authorities in Central Finland are investigating a reported assault that took place in the Laajavuori area of Jyväskylä. According to a statement from the police, they received an emergency call shortly after 11 AM yesterday from a woman who reported being unexpectedly attacked while jogging on a trail between Killeri and Laajavuori.

The woman was running when, after passing the Kortemäki residential area and near the sports center Buugi, a person dressed in dark clothing grabbed her from behind and knocked her to the ground. The assailant fled the scene quickly, as the woman struggled and screamed for help. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured during the incident.

The police conducted extensive searches in the area with multiple patrols but have not yet located the suspect. The case is being investigated as an assault. Based on the police’s information, the suspect is described as a young man dressed in dark clothing, who may have concealed his face.
