In Kiuruvesi, North Savo, an incident involving gunfire occurred on Tuesday evening and into Wednesday night, resulting in the death of the suspected shooter, according to the Eastern Finland Police. There are no other victims related to this incident, and authorities have not identified any additional suspects or injuries connected to the events.

The police responded to a call before 8 PM on Tuesday at a private residence in Kiuruvesi, where a 40-year-old local man was reported to have fired his weapon out of the house. Authorities cordoned off the residence and surrounding area, advising the public to avoid the vicinity of Korkeakankaan, Hovin, and Nivan.

The suspected shooter was later found deceased during a search of the property. Police did not use firearms in response to the situation. A technical investigation is ongoing at the scene, with law enforcement working to clarify the sequence of events, the number of shots fired, and their direction. As of Wednesday afternoon, it was known that the suspect had discharged several rounds from the residence.
