VATT proposes changes to taxation of dividends from unlisted companies in Finland

The Government Institute for Economic Research (VATT) suggests that the issues surrounding the taxation of dividends from unlisted companies could be resolved through straightforward measures. According to VATT, one possible solution is to reduce the normal rate of return from eight percent to a lower rate and increase the taxable portion of dividends from 25 percent.

In a related discussion, the Research Institute of Economies of Finland (Etla) also addresses the same issues in its study, proposing similar thresholds for consideration as those suggested by VATT.
