A recent survey indicates that half of Finns believe that life is too uncertain to justify having children. This perspective is more prevalent among unemployed individuals and workers, while higher-level employees, retirees, and entrepreneurs see having children as more worthwhile. Those in the highest income bracket were least likely to think that uncertainty is a reason to forego parenthood.
The survey, conducted by the Municipal Development Foundation, was carried out by Verian between September and October, involving over a thousand interviews. The margin of error for the overall findings is just under three percentage points in either direction.
