Last night in Finland, many areas experienced unusually warm temperatures for this time of year. The Finnish Meteorological Institute reports that significantly high minimum temperatures have been recorded widely in the eastern and northern parts of the country. Meteorologists classify this weather phenomenon as exceptional if it occurs statistically, on average, once every 30 years or less.

In Eastern Finland, temperatures dropped to around 9 to 11 degrees Celsius, while in the northern regions, lows reached approximately 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. Typically, the expected minimum temperature for this time of year in the inland areas would be between 0 and 2 degrees Celsius.
