Ruokavirasto announces redundancy of 20 employees as part of austerity measures in Finland
Ruokavirasto, the Finnish Food Authority, has announced the redundancy of 20 employees as part of its financial austerity measures. In a press release, the agency noted that the number of layoffs was reduced from an initial 73 to 20 due to retirements and other departures. Following the conclusion of employee cooperation negotiations in June, the overall requirement for staff reduction was 93. By August, the forecast for layoffs had decreased to 50.
The agency emphasized that layoffs, terminations, and operational adjustments will inevitably affect the level of services it provides. Consequently, customers may experience delays in service delivery.
