Elisabeth Svantesson has become the first Swedish official and the second chairperson from Europe, as reported by TV4. She will lead the committee’s efforts for a two-year term.

“I will, of course, focus all my energy and attention here at home, as I always do. However, it feels especially important at a time like this, when much is becoming fragmented and divided, that we find ways to connect and work together across our countries,” Svantesson stated in an interview.

In related financial news, the government is set to present its budget for 2024, with a notable increase of 16.8 billion in this spring’s budget allocation. The budget aims to bring the country closer to its financial goals.
