On Monday, nine men associated with the Bandidos motorcycle gang are being presented in a custody hearing at the Glostrup Court, accompanied by a substantial police presence. Authorities believe that these individuals are linked to four attempted murders stemming from a gang conflict with the rival gang NNV that began in early 2021. The exact roles of each man in the attempted murders are somewhat unclear, but police assert that there were plans to eliminate rivals from NNV.

A report from Denmark’s National Unit for Special Crime reveals that a violent feud between the two gangs persisted from January 4 to June 10, 2021, resulting in the death of one individual from NNV. One of the attempted assassinations allegedly involving five of the men occurred on January 13, 2021, in Bagsværd, where the victim suffered five gunshot wounds but managed to survive. A stolen vehicle was used in the shooting.

The Glostrup Court has utilized its largest courtroom for this hearing due to the high number of defendants and their attorneys, alongside a significant gathering of journalists. The audience area was completely filled, prompting the judge to declare that no additional attendees could be accommodated.

The proceedings are taking place behind closed doors, and a name ban is in effect, preventing detailed media reporting on the suspects’ identities. Several of those accused are prominent figures within the Bandidos, previously convicted for similar crimes. The public remains unaware of the specific evidence collected by police thus far. Prior to the hearing’s commencement, two officers brought in large boxes of documents into the courtroom, indicating that substantial evidence may be involved.

It remains unclear why the arrests occurred nearly five years after the conflict began, but the court session is expected to last all day, concluding around midnight. All nine men maintain their innocence.
