Police in Oslo arrested two individuals overnight in connection with a knife attack that occurred in Storgata on Saturday evening. Both suspects, men in their twenties, are being charged with murder or complicity to murder, according to a statement from a senior police officer.

The investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities are looking into the potential motives behind the attack. At this time, police do not believe the incident is linked to any other serious events or conflict situations within the city.

One of the suspects has denied any wrongdoing, while the second has yet to provide a statement to authorities. Legal representatives described the situation as a tragic event for all involved.

The victim, also a man in his twenties and a foreign national not residing in Oslo, was critically injured during the attack, which occurred around 6:40 PM. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Prior to the stabbing, police seized a knife believed to be connected to the incident. Officials state there is no ongoing threat to the public, suggesting that the incident is linked to a dispute among individuals in a specific environment.

While authorities have not confirmed the root cause of the confrontation or any relationship between the victim and the suspects, they are focused on interviewing the accused as part of the ongoing investigation. Police are reviewing extensive video footage from the area, which they believe could help identify any additional suspects involved.

On Sunday, police will assess whether to request custody for the suspects, with a decision expected by Monday. One of the arrested individuals has a criminal history known to law enforcement.
