Electricity prices in Finland expected to drop to negative levels on Monday

On Monday, the price of exchange electricity is expected to drop to negative levels multiple times throughout the day. According to Nord Pool, the highest price will reach zero euros per kilowatt-hour between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, as well as between 6:00 and 7:00 PM. Conversely, the lowest price is anticipated at 4:00 AM, when it will plummet to -0.30 euros per kilowatt-hour.

This significant decline in price is driven by an increase in wind power production. The transmission system operator Fingrid predicts that wind power output will exceed 5,000 megawatt-hours on Sunday evening.
