Fire reported from chimney in Mávahlíð neighborhood of Reykjavík

A fire was reported emanating from a chimney in the Mávahlíð neighborhood of Reykjavík this evening. Emergency services in the capital responded with a full deployment.

According to the duty officer at the fire department, there is no immediate danger associated with the incident. It is believed that the fire involved old material within the chimney, and it has not spread.

However, thick smoke was observed coming from the blaze.
