Sweden explores profit limitations in schools amid safety concerns
The government is investigating profit limitations in schools. Johan Pehrson has expressed openness to completely banning profits if current measures prove insufficient. “What drives my passion for this is the students’ right to an education for their future,” Pehrson stated.
The Liberal Party had previously opposed any restrictions on school profits but has since shifted its stance. In a recent interview, Pehrson indicated that entirely limiting profit potential is not out of the question. “I have said that I do not rule anything out, and I stand by that,” he affirmed.
This move comes amid increasing concerns about safety in schools, with reports of rising incidents of threats and violence. The Liberal Party is also facing significant membership losses, marked as the largest decline among parliamentary parties.
In related developments, there have been multiple protective measures initiated against individual students deemed too dangerous for teachers.
