Prince Rami Al Husseini sentenced to conditional imprisonment for financial crimes in Oulu
The Oulu District Court has sentenced Prince Rami Al Husseini, also known as Rami Jaber, to nearly two years of conditional imprisonment for serious financial crimes. According to the court ruling, Jaber was found guilty of two counts of aggravated tax fraud and aggravated accounting offenses committed between 2016 and 2019. During this time, he served as a board member and CEO of RNG Entertainment Oy.
The charges asserted that Jaber evaded taxes amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros and caused significant discrepancies in the company’s accounting records. Jaber denied all charges in court, claiming that he did not intentionally violate the law or seek significant financial gain.
Earlier this year, Jaber was also sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison for fraud-related crimes in Germany. The ruling by the Oulu District Court is not yet final and can be appealed to the Court of Appeal.
Later this year, the district court is scheduled to hear another case involving Jaber, who is accused of additional financial crimes in collaboration with a former business partner. The court date has been set for December, but the proceedings may be delayed as Jaber’s business partner has yet to be located in Finland. The partner is reportedly residing in the United States.
Jaber gained notoriety in Finland in the mid-2010s as a leader of a grandiose film project. In Oulu, he was also known for his golden Mercedes-Benz and for acquiring a substantial stake in the local football club AC Oulu, from which he was later dismissed as a board member.
