No one in the family of four was injured when a fire broke out in their home in Aurskog-Høland on June 25th this year. A 19-year-old Swedish man was apprehended near the scene and later confessed during police questioning that he traveled to Norway with the intent to set the house on fire. The case has evident connections to criminal networks in Sweden.

Investigations suggest that individuals linked to the now-illegal motorcycle club Satudarah commissioned the arson. A police lawyer stated that there are clear indications that the act was contracted by associates of criminal organizations.

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident—two 19-year-olds from Sweden and two Norwegian men in their 20s and 30s. The second 19-year-old was extradited to Norway this week. Evidence suggests he was the one who directed the young arsonist to ignite the house. This alleged client has a lengthy criminal record in Sweden, including charges for assault and robbery.

The Norwegian man in his 20s arrested in the investigation was reportedly hired to collect money from the father in Aurskog-Høland, for which he was to receive 20,000 kroner. The older Norwegian, in his 30s, is facing charges related to the attempted arson but has not yet provided a statement to the police.

The father, who had received threats before, had installed a surveillance camera outside his home after a failed arson attempt the night before. The camera helped alert him to the fire, enabling him to wake the others in the house and escape unharmed.

Norse authorities are increasingly concerned about cross-border crime, particularly the influence of Swedish gang violence spilling over into Norway.
