Since October 1, the Psychiatric Department at the National Hospital has been actively working to reduce the waiting list for ADHD evaluations.
Patients are being assessed outside regular working hours, with the evaluations conducted by former staff members.
It is expected that around 80 individuals will be evaluated for ADHD in this manner, though over 300 people are currently on the waiting list for their assessments.
An interview with Tórmóð Stórá, the chief physician at the Psychiatric Department, provides further insights into this initiative.
The hospital’s efforts aim to address the backlog and offer timely support to those seeking diagnosis and treatment for ADHD.
