Man attacked hotel staff in downtown Reykjavik, held in custody for questioning

A man attacked hotel staff in downtown Reykjavik and is currently being held in custody until he can be questioned. Hotel security reportedly subdued the individual before police arrived at the scene, according to local police reports.

In Hafnarfjordur, firefighters quickly extinguished a minor fire in a container in the Vallahverfi neighborhood. Additionally, police were dispatched to two stores in the western part of the city to respond to reports of shoplifting, which were resolved on site.

Meanwhile, authorities received reports of fireworks being shot off in the suburbs of Kópavogur, but no one was found during police investigations in the area.
