The Foreign Affairs Ministry has spent over 171,000 Danish kroner on a report that has yet to be published. The majority of the funds were allocated to coordinate the work, which came to a halt as the main council changed its approach.
Herálvur Joensen, the Director General of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry, stated that the ministry planned to collaborate with the University of the Faroe Islands, resulting in the appointment of an external coordinator for the task. This coordinator received 143,000 kroner for their efforts.
“The aim is to release the material in a revised format this year,” Joensen promised.
The report will not focus directly on the foreign service itself but will instead address several foreign policy issues relevant to the Faroe Islands.
