Billström starts own company focusing on lectures and consultation services
Former Foreign Minister Tobias Billström has unexpectedly left the government over a month ago. It has now been revealed what his next steps will be. Billström plans to start his own company, focusing on delivering lectures and training sessions, with a geopolitical emphasis. He will also provide consultation services in leadership.
Billström intends to operate the business independently without hiring any staff, according to reports. He has submitted a notice of intention to the Karensnämnden, which evaluates new employments or assignments for former ministers. The committee, which can impose restrictions during a transition period, approved his application on Tuesday.
The committee concluded that “the knowledge he (Billström) acquired as a minister does not present any risk that could warrant a transition restriction,” as stated by chairperson Anna Skarhed in the decision.
