Man injured in all-terrain vehicle accident at Hvítárvatn in South Iceland

A man was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident at Hvítárvatn and has been transported to a hospital for treatment.

Emergency services from South Iceland and a helicopter from the Coast Guard were deployed around four o’clock after a buggy vehicle, a type of four-wheeler, overturned in the area. According to a representative from Landsbjörg, the man was airlifted to Landspítalinn, the national hospital, for further care. Additional information regarding the injured man’s condition has not been disclosed.
