Father posts unconventional Facebook ad for son in Flesberg, Norway
Thor-Egil Haugen has taken an unconventional approach to help his son Kristoffer, 25, find a partner by posting a Facebook ad offering him to a suitable woman. The post has sparked tremendous interest, generating hundreds of inquiries, 768 reactions, 205 comments, and being shared 431 times.
Kristoffer, who resides on a small farm in Flesberg, expressed surprise at the overwhelming response but finds it humorous. His father aims to find him a girlfriend, emphasizing that the ideal candidate should be kind, calm, and have a clear life plan.
Despite initially intending to place an ad in a farming publication, Thor-Egil decided to post on Facebook after a year and a half of encouraging his son to date. The ad reads, “25-year-old heir from a small farm in Flesberg, given away to a girl/woman of appropriate age, 20–28 years old.”
In the advertisement, Thor-Egil describes Kristoffer as a “kind and hard-working boy” who enjoys riding motorcycles and driving a BMW when not working on the farm. The surprising visibility of the post has attracted many interested women, as well as mothers hoping to help their daughters find a match.
Though Kristoffer hasn’t actively sought out a girlfriend, he is not opposed to the idea. He candidly stated, “I’m just working,” which reflects his father’s sentiment that he should spend less time working and focus on finding a partner.
Ultimately, Kristoffer has the final say in his romantic pursuits, and he values qualities such as kindness and calmness, while his father is merely relieved to witness such significant interest in his son’s quest for love.
