The Minister for Fisheries will soon meet with the Foreign Affairs Committee to discuss the fishing rights agreement with Russia next year. This was announced by Aksel V. Johannesen, the Prime Minister, during a question session in the Parliament earlier today.

The query was raised by Bárður á Steig Nielsen, the leader of the Union Party, who highlighted the importance of the upcoming discussions.

During the debate, Liljan Weihe from the Republican Party pointed out that there has been no meeting held by the Foreign Affairs Committee, despite the majority urging the government in the spring to start preparing the fishing agreement with Russia for 2025 as soon as possible.

The significance of this agreement and the lack of progress in discussions may have implications for the fishing industry and international relations.
