Human hand discovered in Toholampi area of Central Ostrobothnia
On Saturday, police received an emergency call reporting the discovery of a human hand in the Toholampi area of Central Ostrobothnia. A passerby made the shocking find. According to the police, no additional human remains were found at the site, which was searched with the assistance of a cadaver dog. The hand has been sent for forensic examination, and authorities are conducting a cause-of-death investigation. At this time, there is no suspicion of a crime linked to the discovery.
The police have been tight-lipped about the details of the case but clarified that the term “hand” refers to a human forearm. Communications expert Jasmin Granholm from the Ostrobothnia police stated that they cannot specify the exact location of the discovery or the age of the remains. Granholm refrained from discussing whether there has been an active search for a missing person in the area, which might relate to the found hand, noting, “This is indeed a rare case.”
