Last week, Anna Kinberg Batra was formally dismissed from her position as Governor of Stockholm following intense criticism from the Parliamentary Ombudsman. The criticisms focused on her recruitment practices for the Stockholm County Administrative Board, which allegedly violated constitutional standards of impartiality.

Due to security concerns, the location of her new workplace is undisclosed, though it is speculated to be at either the Ministry of Finance or the government offices on Karlavägen in Stockholm. Sources indicate that there is a significant security presence surrounding her.

Details regarding Kinberg Batra’s specific responsibilities in her new role remain unclear. However, she will retain her monthly salary of approximately 120,000 kronor until her term ends in February 2029.

Upcoming episodes of the political program “Politikbyrån” will discuss the so-called “Elephant Graveyard,” with segments airing on SVT Play, as well as on SVT2 at designated times. This term, “Elephant Graveyard,” often refers to politicians who are removed from their positions or otherwise side-lined in a way that is politically notable.
