Finnish customs intercept large cocaine shipment worth over 2.2 million euros at Naantali port; Romanian citizen arrested
In June, customs officials in Finland intercepted a large shipment of cocaine. The vehicle, bearing foreign plates, arrived in the country on a Swedish ship docked at Naantali port. During the customs inspection, a hidden compartment was discovered in the car’s structure from which a total of 15 kilograms of cocaine was seized. The street value of the confiscated cocaine would have amounted to over 2.2 million euros. According to the customs officials, this is one of the largest drug seizures in Turku’s port area. One Romanian citizen has been arrested in connection with the case, which is being investigated as a serious drug crime.
