Police interrupted a gathering of approximately 250 people in Ylimarkku, Närpiö, over the weekend due to excessive noise complaints. Officers were called to the scene, where the event was taking place at a community center filled with parked cars. Most attendees were intoxicated youths aged 15 to 25. The gathering had not been registered as a public event, and there was no organizer or responsible individual present.

The police halted the festivities and locked the community center’s doors. A criminal report was filed for a violation of assembly regulations, and an investigation has been initiated. Police officials emphasized the importance of notifying authorities about public gatherings that attract hundreds of participants or extend past 10 PM.

Additionally, events requiring security personnel or traffic management also necessitate prior notification. Gatherings involving more than 200 individuals must have an approved emergency plan in place. Such notifications must be submitted at least five days before the event.
