The consumer price index in the Faroe Islands has increased by 1.7 percent, according to official statistics. This marks the lowest rate of price growth in over three years, indicating that prices are not rising as quickly as they have in the past.

From August 2023 to August this year, prices have indeed risen by 1.7 percent overall. However, food prices continue to climb, having increased by slightly more than 4 percent compared to August of last year.

Interestingly, while many goods have become more expensive, coffee has seen a decrease in price, making it cheaper now than it was in August of the previous year. This shift reflects broader trends in consumer goods and may offer some relief to consumers facing inflationary pressures.
