Last night, both the police and fire department were extremely busy in the capital area, according to reports. A vehicle crashed into another at high speed, resulting in one person sustaining injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested on-site, as he was not only unlicensed but also suspected of driving under the influence.

Numerous incidents involved the conduct of drivers, including issues related to intoxication and violations of Reykjavik’s police regulations. One individual was apprehended on suspicion of assault at a downtown restaurant, and several bars are likely to face penalties for admitting underage guests or employing unlicensed bouncers.

The capital’s fire department also experienced a hectic night, responding to over 100 emergency calls, a significant volume for a weekend. Among these, 55 were made during the night shift. Fire engines were dispatched to six separate incidents, including three traffic accidents, two assistance requests for ambulances, and one potential fire.
