Funding cuts for teacher training programs in Finland to total €15 million
Starting next year, funding for teacher training programs in Finland will be cut by nearly €15 million. This reduction is part of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s productivity program and is already reflected in the government’s budget proposal for the upcoming year. According to the Finnish National Agency for Education, this portion of the budget has been used to provide training for tens of thousands of teachers across various educational levels annually.
The trade union for education professionals, OAJ, has expressed strong discontent regarding this proposal and is demanding the cancellation of the funding cut.
