Peace initiative launched by Høgni Hoydal during Palestine support event in Tórshavn
A peace initiative has been launched, with hostages being urged for release and a dual solution proposed. This message was conveyed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Høgni Hoydal, during a support event for Palestine held in the capital today.
Minister Hoydal stated that he does not intend to take sides in the conflict in the Middle East. His speech came during an event organized by the interest group “Samhugi við Palestina.”
In May, the same group presented the foreign minister with 1,000 signatures, urging him to recall the Faroese embassy in Tel Aviv and to close the Faroese consulate in Israel. However, Høgni Hoydal dismissed these calls, stating, “But that will not happen.”
The event also featured a peace march organized by the interest group, emphasizing their support for Palestine.
For further details, audio segments of the event are available for listening, capturing both the minister’s remarks and insights from the attendees.
