A fire broke out in a row house in Tohmajärvi, North Karelia, on Saturday afternoon. The rescue service reported the incident for the first time at 2:18 PM. By nearly 3:30 PM, on-duty fire chief Lauri Hirvonen informed Yle that the fire had been extinguished.
One person sustained minor injuries in the blaze. According to Hirvonen, it appears that the fire originated from the battery of an electric moped that was charging indoors. The row house comprises a total of four apartments, and Hirvonen noted that the fire was contained to just one unit.
