Thousands warned by police about potential criminal calls in Finland
Thousands of Finns across the country have received a text message from the police warning them about criminals potentially trying to call them. The warning has been sent to individuals identified on a call list obtained by the police, according to Crime Commissioner Janne Kyllönen.
The police indicate that criminals may contact people on this list in an attempt to extract their banking credentials. Kyllönen noted that this criminal operation has already defrauded individuals of millions.
Authorities remind the public that neither the police nor banks will ever ask for bank credentials over the phone.
