Man suspected of murder after violent death in Vantaa, Finland
A man over 40 years old is suspected to have been murdered last weekend in Vantaa, Finland. Police received a report from a private residence in Tikkurila on Sunday, September 29. The victim was found dead in his home by an external party, according to Chief Investigator Sanna Rentola in a police statement.
Signs of violence were evident on the victim’s body, and the case is being investigated under the charge of homicide. The suspected murder is believed to have occurred over the weekend of September 28-29, during the transition from Saturday to Sunday.
On Tuesday, police arrested one person in Helsinki in connection with the case. Authorities plan to request the detention of the individual suspected of the murder. According to Rentola, the arrested individual was well known to the victim. Both the victim and the arrested person are adult males aged between 40 and 50.
The preliminary investigation is still in its early stages, and at this point, police are not commenting on the motive for the crime or the method involved.
