The case is being updated.

“We have received the ruling and are currently reviewing it to assess whether there are grounds for an appeal,” said the woman’s lawyer, Petar Sekulic.

The Oslo District Court ruled on Tuesday that “the court finds it proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant provided a false statement at the police station on July 6, 2022. This was when she claimed to have been present outside London Pub on Rosenkrantz’ gate on the night of Saturday, June 25, 2022, and alleged that she was shot and sustained gunshot wounds, despite this not being true.”

The woman has been sentenced to 90 days in prison, of which 60 days are conditional with a probation period of two years.

Sekulic declined to comment on his client’s response to the ruling, stating, “My client has just received it and is reviewing it now. I cannot comment further at this time.”

When asked how long it would take to decide on an appeal, Sekulic mentioned, “The appeal deadline is set for October 22. So certainly by then.”

During the trial last week, the woman denied guilt. However, the court stated that they had no doubt her testimony was false. “It is evident that the explanation is fabricated and untrue,” the court noted. They referenced the lack of any video evidence from the area of the shooting and stated that there were no records of her receiving treatment for a gunshot wound at any emergency service in Oslo. Additionally, her mobile phone activity indicated she was sending text messages near her home at the time of the alleged shooting. The woman had previously made statements to various media claiming she had been shot, but these reports were retracted once it was established she was not a victim.
