UK Ambassador to Finland humorously highlights orderly geese using pedestrian crossing in Helsinki
White-fronted geese often cause irritation among the residents of Helsinki. However, the UK Ambassador to Finland, Theresa Bubbear, found humor in the situation. She shared a photograph on Wednesday of dozens of geese crossing a road in Kaivopuisto, a park in Helsinki. What makes the scene amusing is that the geese are politely using the pedestrian crossing.
“Early morning in Helsinki. Geese on their way to the office, using the zebra crossing in an orderly Finnish manner,” Bubbear wrote in her post.
Many users joined in the joke in the comments section of the post. One commented on how both the British and the Finns appreciate orderly queuing. “Few people know this, but geese offices still have very strict dress codes,” wrote another. A third warned, “Agents of chaos behaving civilly. Don’t fall for it! These geese are a plague.”
