Two individuals arrested for attempting to smuggle stolen goods to Norway following break-ins at Elko stores in Iceland

Two individuals have been arrested while attempting to transport stolen goods to Norway following a series of break-ins at Elko stores early last week. Three men are currently in police custody as part of an investigation into these incidents in the capital region. Last week, four individuals were detained, with three released later. Over the weekend, two additional suspects were apprehended in East Iceland and will remain in custody until Wednesday. One of the suspects has been held since last week and will stay in custody until Friday.

Reports indicate that the recently arrested men had been en route to Norway with the stolen merchandise in their possession. The police have recovered a portion of the stolen goods, but valuables worth tens of millions remain missing.
