Two individuals detained in connection with murder attempt in Vallila, Helsinki

Helsinki District Court has detained two individuals on probable cause on Saturday, September 28, in connection with a murder attempt that occurred in Vallila. The suspects, aged 26 and 21, are believed to have been involved in the incident.

The stabbing took place at a commercial venue on Mäkelänkatu around 7 PM on Wednesday, September 25. Police apprehended the suspects from various locations throughout the capital region. According to investigator Marko Forss in a police statement, the arrests were made by the riot police a few hours after the event.

The 24-year-old victim sustained serious injuries from the stabbing. Officers present at the scene provided first aid, which, according to Forss, played a significant role in preventing the victim’s death.

On Friday, September 27, police released two additional suspects but continue to investigate possible gang connections related to the case. The police have stated that they cannot disclose further details at this stage, as sharing more information could impact the ongoing preliminary investigation.
