Anna Kinberg Batra resigns as chair of Swedish Space Corporation amid criticism

Anna Kinberg Batra has stepped down from her position as chair of the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC), according to reports. She has held this role since 2022.

The former leader of the Moderate Party recently faced sharp criticism from the Parliamentary Ombudsman, which led to her resignation as the Governor of Stockholm. Instead, she will take on a new role at the Prime Minister’s Office.

A spokesperson for Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson stated that the nature of the new position at the government office is considered incompatible with her role as chair of the SSC.

Kinberg Batra’s departure from the SSC marks a significant transition in her career, following her recent challenges in public office.
