A man was rescued by emergency services on Thursday morning in Kangasniemi, after becoming trapped in his home’s storage building. The incident occurred when the man slipped on a piece of plexiglass on the floor and fell. A wall-mounted piece of plexiglass subsequently fell on top of him, followed by a heavy engine part weighing tens of kilograms.

The man was trapped overnight in a lying position under the fallen plexiglass and engine part. He was unable to call for help or move the engine part off himself.

The situation was discovered in the morning when a close relative visited and noticed the accident. The visitor was unable to move the engine part from atop the man and subsequently called the emergency services for help.

The rescue team successfully moved the engine part. The man remained strong and calm throughout the ordeal, engaging in conversation the entire time. However, due to the length of time he had been trapped, he was taken to the hospital for examination.

The man sustained minor injuries in the accident. The emergency services were alerted to the incident at around nine o’clock on Thursday morning, with three units dispatched to the scene.
